Pandemic Protocol for Transporting Samples

As there is no clear end to the COVID-19 safety measures, we have modified our sample transport procedures to continue ensuring the safety of customers and personnel while delivering timely and accurate test results.

Sample collection and preparation remains the same.  Consult our Asbestos Sampling Guide for further details.

Proper identification of your samples is critical.  We provide a Chain of Custody form (CoC) that clearly defines

  • the customer,
  • the location where samples were taken,
  • the nature of the materials to be tested (tile, ceiling, pipe insultation, etc.) and
  • the type of testing required.

This form also serves as authorization to test your samples and forms part of the final report on test results.

For these reasons, we will be handling samples based on the following scenarios:

Samples can be dropped off any time. After hours deposits will be dealt with the following business day.

There you will find a clearly marked Asbestos Laboratories box to deposit your Ziploc bag(s) and CoC form.
(we will be posting additional drop-off points as we identify other safe locations)

Please call 416.688.2757 to arrange for a no-contact pickup. Our Toronto-area technician will come to your address to pick up your samples and CoC form, which you can leave in your mailbox or other accessible spot.

Ottawa
Please call 613.899.9341 to arrange for a no-contact pickup. Our Ottawa-area technician will come to your address to pick up your samples and CoC form, which you can leave in your mailbox or other accessible spot.

Montreal

Canada Post or Courier

Packages should be well sealed and clearly marked and include the CoC form.

Please note: we are changing our shipping arrangements to streamline the process.  In the meantime, please email us for the temporary address to which you will be sending your samples.  We greatly appreciate your understanding and cooperation.  The formal procedure will be posted here as soon as it is confirmed.
